soils alive and preservation tree present

On Earth Day, Thursday, April 22, 2010, more than 300 eco-concerned Dallas neighbors turned out to fill two theatres at the Angelika Film Center, Mockingbird Station. Together, they screened the independent film, A Chemical Reaction: a true story about the dangers of the use of everyday chemical pesticides and herbicides on our lawns. The screening was followed by a question & answer session featuring panel experts Michael Bosco, local founder of Soils Alive organic lawn care, Harold Spiegel, local founder of Preservation Tree Services and Brett Plymale, director of A Chemical Reaction, among other panel experts. The reaction was positive, real and vocal.
You've seen the film, you've heard the message, now what?
1. Safely gather and rid your garage and home of store-bought chemical lawn pesticides and herbicides. Find the nearest hazardous waste collection center. Encourage your neighbors and offer to do the same for them.
2. Find eco-friendly lawn and landscape care products online or hire a local lawn care service or organic tree care expert, like the presenters of GreenCarpetDallas.
3. Gather your friends, colleagues or neighbors and host A Chemical Reaction screening party. We can help. Contact us to find out how.
4. Know that we're listening and we're already hard at work planning future events and opportunities to build upon the momentum you're helping to achieve. Ideas? Thoughts? We want to hear from you!
